At Vermont State University, your instructors aren't just academics — they're practitioners. A holistic health doctor, herbalist, and Ayurvedic specialist will guide you through coursework that goes beyond theory. You'll gain hands-on experience through opportunities like Reiki certification, and apply what you learn to your own well-being, not just your future patients'. The people teaching you have done this work. That makes all the difference.
This program helps you apply what you learn to your own well-being — building healthy habits and stress management strategies that serve you through college and into your career. It's one of the most effective ways to truly understand integrative, cross-cultural, and evidence-based practices: by living them yourself before you ever work with a patient.
Vermont State's Holistic Health program does something rare at the undergraduate level: it grounds you in chemistry, biology, anatomy, and physiology while training you across a wide range of integrative health care therapies including acupuncture, herbalism, yoga, chiropractic, and meditation. The curriculum meets standards set by the NIH's National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. You'll graduate prepared to continue building your knowledge through post-graduate training in health-related programs.

It's a head start in one of the fastest-growing areas in healthcare.
